40,000 m³/h Zeolite Concentrator & Catalytic Oxidizer for Acoustic Component Coating
Turnkey environmental EPC delivered for Guangzhou Foster Electric Co., Ltd. (Foster Electric Group). Integrating cyclone wet scrubbing, 4-stage sub-HEPA filtration, 20:1 zeolite concentration, and intermittent catalytic oxidation to deliver >65% energy savings and DB 44/2367 compliance.
World-Class Acoustic Transducer Manufacturing & Dilute Spray Exhaust
Guangzhou Foster Electric Co., Ltd. is a flagship manufacturing center of Foster Electric Company, Limited (Tokyo, Japan / TYO: 6794), a global pioneer in acoustic technology founded in 1949. The Panyu facility produces premier automotive audio transducers, high-fidelity headphone drivers, acoustic speaker diaphragms, and precision micro-motor assemblies for top-tier global electronics brands.
The production lines incorporate precision robotic spray coating booths, manual touch-up stations, and UV-curing drying tunnels applying specialized acoustic dampers, polyurethane lacquers, and epoxy adhesives. To ensure impeccable acoustic compliance and surface uniformity, large air volumes (40,000 m³/h) sweep through the booths, resulting in large-airflow, low-concentration exhaust (average 71 mg/m³, peak 110 mg/m³).
Direct thermal oxidation of such dilute air would require immense natural gas or electrical auxiliary power. Furthermore, the exhaust carries sticky overspray paint mist and solvent vapors including diacetone alcohol, butyl acetate, and glycol ethers that can irreversibly foul and glaze zeolite adsorbents if improperly conditioned.
Critical Engineering Constraints
- Sticky Overspray Mist: Acoustic lacquers contain polymeric resins requiring cyclone centrifugal scrubbing plus 4-stage dry filtration before zeolite contact.
- Energy Optimization Mandate: Continuous CO operation on dilute exhaust (71 mg/m³) was economically unacceptable; an intermittent accumulation strategy was required.
- Automated Safety Interlocking: Online stack FID telemetry integrated with master PLC to dynamically trigger desorption cycles.
- Guangdong DB 44/2367 Compliance: Strict limit of NMHC ≤ 60 mg/m³ and Benzene ≤ 2 mg/m³ at the 20m exhaust stack.

Technological Architecture & Key Engineering Solutions
Integrated P&ID process flow, multi-stage cyclone dry filtration, and intermittent zeolite-CO oxidation core.
Complete Pre-Treatment, Concentration & Catalytic Loop
The entire abatement facility operates as an automated closed-loop ecosystem. Spray booth exhaust collected via overhead stainless ducting enters a Cyclone Hybrid Wet Scrubber where high-speed rotational acceleration and atomized water mist scrub coarse paint overspray.
The exhaust then passes through a 4-tier dry filtration box (G4+F7+F9+H10) to eliminate sub-micron particles before entering the Zeolite Concentrator. Purified dilute air discharges directly to the stack, while an intermittent 2,000 m³/h hot desorption loop transfers accumulated solvent vapors to the Catalytic Oxidizer (CO) for flameless conversion into carbon dioxide and water vapor.
- Intermittent 3h-adsorption / 1h-desorption schedule maximizing thermal self-sufficiency.
- Integrated plate heat exchangers preheating incoming desorption air with clean catalytic flue gas.

Cyclone Wet Scrubbing + 4-Stage Sub-HEPA Particulate Barrier
Acoustic speaker diaphragms utilize fast-curing polyurethane lacquers and synthetic adhesives. Overspray paint droplets entering a zeolite concentrator would permanently glaze the micropores, causing irreversible adsorption decay.
FluxFine engineered a two-stage pre-conditioning barrier: (1) A φ1500 mm Cyclone Hybrid Scrubber imparts high centrifugal force with atomized water curtain to capture sticky overspray; (2) A 4-stage dry filter unit combining G4 coarse panel, F7 pocket, F9 medium synthetic, and H10 sub-HEPA barriers catches particles down to 0.3 µm with ≥ 99.5% interception efficiency.
- Dual differential pressure transmitters continuously monitor filter loading across all 4 stages.
- Interlocking pressure alerts prompt scheduled filter bag swaps without interrupting production lines.
20:1 Zeolite Concentration & Flameless Pt/Pd Catalytic Oxidation
The adsorption core employs a hydrophobic monolithic aluminosilicate zeolite concentrator rotating continuously at 2–6 rph. Dilute organic molecules (ethyl acetate, diacetone alcohol, butyl acetate) are selectively adsorbed onto the high-surface-area molecular sieve matrix.
During the scheduled 1-hour desorption phase, 180°C–220°C hot air sweeps the desorption sector, releasing a concentrated stream (20:1 ratio) directly into the 2,000 m³/h Catalytic Oxidizer. Inside the CO unit, noble metal Pt/Pd honeycomb catalyst blocks trigger exothermic oxidation at 350°C–430°C, achieving ≥97.5% destruction without naked flame, NO_x formation, or excessive fuel use.
- Precious metal Pt/Pd catalyst guarantees high reactivity at low ignition temperatures (< 350°C).
- Closed-loop FID stack emission feedback automatically modulates desorption frequency.
